We are seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer to support our team at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. The ideal candidate is a self-starting, motivated engineer with exceptional organizational skills.
Responsibilities- Perform analysis tasks on cutting-edge problems in the field of computational fluid dynamics for rockets and spacecraft
- Provide CFD support of NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) program
- Perform meshing/pre-processing of customer geometries
- Simulate lunar touchdown and ascent phenomena
- Develop aerothermal environments in a near-vacuum
- Perform other duties as required.
- 1-2 years of CFD work experience post graduation
- Experience with applying CFD to external aerodynamics and chemically-reacting flows
- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 0-5 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
- Experience with ANSA, Pointwise, Star-CCM+
- Strong foundation in compressible flows
