We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Structural Analyst to join our JETS II contract team at Johnson Space Center.

Responsibilities

If selected, you will:

– Use aerospace experience to review/perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis, fatigue anlaysis, and fracture mechanics analysis
– Familiar with analysis of fasteners and joints per NASA-STD-5020
– Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling and MSC/NASTRAN for solution and post processing
– Review structural analysis reports and work with other contractors to find resolution to problems
– Review mechanism design and analysis
– Review Fracture classifications per NASA requirements and standards
– Composites design and analysis experience is a plus
– Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Requisition Preferences:

– Mechanical or Aerospace engineering degree from an ABET Accredited college or university and 5-15 years experience
– Prior experience with NASA spaceflight hardware
– Prior experience with Composite design and analysis

– Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5- 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
– Familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required
– Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
